University Honors Program Envoy
Being a member of the UHP Envoy at ISU signifies your commitment as a passionate and dedicated representative of the Honors Program. Envoy members actively support Honors leadership, contribute to UHP initiatives and recruitment efforts, and serve as the face and voice of the program and its student community. Each fall and spring semester, four to five Envoy positions are typically available, with duties that vary depending on the current needs of the program.
As an internship position, Envoy positions are semester-long terms (available each Fall and Spring semester) and include a $300 scholarship and a stipend of approximately $300 (at $9 per hour, paid over the semester).

Fall 2025 Envoy Positions
Assists Conner Suddick with designing, evaluating and making improvements to HONS 1100: Introduction to University Honors. Tasks may include the following:
- Serve as an upper division resource for first-year honors students in two sections of HONS 1100;
- Provide feedback on student presentations and projects with faculty mentorship;
- Facilitate select learning activities to enhance student comprehension of the material.
Assists Lori Tapanila with the production of the UHP Weekly Update using the UHP Canva account, and creating and responding to Social Media posts. Tasks may include adding content to the UHPWU template, writing short spotlight pieces, and will allow the student to propose ideas for UHPWU content. To be successful in this position the candidate needs to be able to:
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Be willing to learn how to use Canva.
- Have an understanding of Social Media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).
- Work independently and be prompt with deadlines.
- Seek assistance without hesitation.
Assists the Honors Director, Dr. Sarah Robey, with UHP management tasks and some recruitment responsibilities. Duties may include the following:
- Assist the UHP Director with updating thesis project tracking and Honors Contract Course applications.
- Manage enrollment and curriculum data from Honors courses.
- Meet with prospective UHP students in-person or online.
- Prepare, revise, or edit recruiting materials such as pamphlets, handouts, and mailers.
Assists Lori Tapanila with Honors website updates and maintenance.
The student in this position will learn how to use Terminal4 (ISU's website content management system) and will work on the UHP website. Primary duties include updating the UHP Events and UHPWU webpages weekly. Other website tasks will depend on time, need, and proficiency with T4. To be successful in this position the candidate needs to be able to:
- Be willing to learn how to use T4.
- Work independently and be prompt with deadlines.
- Seek assistance without hesitation.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
